  • Czar Nicholas II
  • A New Government
  • Nicholas II becomes the last czar in 1894. Nicholas II made wise decisions and not so wise ones. like giving people more freedom to dragging Russia into WWI. Later on he was then brutally murdered with his family.

  • Bolshevik Revolution
  • this event was known as Bloody Sunday, being such a horrifying event. 200,000 workers had a forbidden march asking for better working conditions and freedom. Hundreds being unarmed were killed by the soldiers. Nicholas II then promised more freedom for the workers by establishing a parliament, the Duma.

  • March Revolution
  • This Event was known as the March Revolution. While Russia was involved in WWI the women started realizing they were short on food and fuel. This caused a riot and 200,000 angry workers. The soldiers was told to kill the people but instead they agreed and joined the riot.

  • Leaders of the Duma set up a provisional government which was a temporary government. There was multiple people angry throughout Russia. Peasants demanded more land, city workers grew more radical and soviets were formed. Lenin then became a leader of the Bolsheviks and proclaimed his slogan "peace, land and bread". Catching everyone's attention.

  • the provisional government was then overthrown by the Bolsheviks led by Lenin. He gave the peasants and the city workers what they desired. Everyone was pleased over lenins control.

  • Totalitarism is a government that takes total, centralized, state control over every aspect of public and private life. the Totalitarism state Stalin built planned pure control and persuasion. Stalin completely monitored everything like mail and phone calls. He had also eliminated anyone who opposed him in any way. Having stalin in total control of society took away personal rights and freedoms of everyone.
