  • if the bill passes in the senate, it is then sent to the president
  • A. president uses the pocket veto
  • i'm going to VETO this one
  • the president will read the bill. he then has a few options of how to address the bill....
  • A. President doesn't sign while congress is in sessions, or he veto's
  • i think ill send this one to congress
  • the president may agree with the bill, sign it, and the bill will become a law.
  • Congressional override of the veto
  • if the president doesn't sign the bill within 10 days and congress is NOT IN SESSION, the bill will not become a law. this is know as a "pocket veto"
  • * if the president doesn't sign the bill within 10 days and congress is IN SESSION, the bill become a law . *if the president doesn't agree with the law, he can veto the bill, and it will be sent back to congress.
  • th ebill will be vetoed upon in the congress again and if 2/3 of congress votes in favor od the bill, it will become a law. if less than 2/3 of the congress vote in favor, the bill dies
