Galileo Galilei was a brilliant scientist of the Renaissance. He was born on February 15, 1564 in Pisa, Italy.
Look at our son!!
When Galileo began studying in a University near Florence, he became very interested in mathematics, philosophy, and science.
I love math and science! Maybe I should learn more about it and teach others.
Galileo is famous for inventing the telescope. He perfected the original design by teaching himself how to grind lens.
Wow that is so cool. You can see the stars so clearly with this telescope.
He also discovered the rings of Saturn and four of the moons revolving around Jupiter like Europa, Callisto, Ganymede, and lo.
Later, Galileo proved the theory made by Copernicus that the planets revolve around the Sun and that the Earth is not the center of our universe. After he made a book about his theory, he got arrested and was imprisoned up until the time of his death.
The Catholic Church is wrong. All the planets orbit around the Sun not the Earth.
Galileo died on January 8, 1642 in Arcetri at age 78. His accomplishments and works are still remembered and valued today.
Galileo's theories, inventions, and discoveries will always be looked back at for many years.
