  • Britain fought in the French and Indian war. After the war, Britain made the colonists pay for there dept from the war. The colonist were not happy about that they were made to pay more tax for Britain .
  • The Boston massacre 
  • Whatever you do. DON'T fire!
  • The Quartering Act was a law that said the Colonist had to supply the British army with fuel, food, candles, transportation, and a place to live. The Colonist were not happy because they had to supply the soldiers, and the soldiers were not happy because they couldn't be home with there family.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • were only after the tea!
  • The Stamp Act was a law that made the Colonist pay for printed paper. The Colonists were mad that they had to pay for things they used everyday and even more mad that they didn't have a say in these laws. Later, Parliament repealed the law. 
  • The Intolerable Act
  • What do you mean we "can't leave"!
  • Because of the Stamp Act, the Colonist hated the the soldiers and called then names. The soldiers also started to hate the Colonists. On March 5, 1770, some Colonist started to throw rocks and snow balls at the soldiers. the soldiers fired at the Colonist leaving
  • Parliament repealed most of the unpopular taxes, accept the tea tax, so when they stopped buying from the British, Parliament made a law saying the Colonist could only buy from there tea company. The Colonists were furious because this new law, so mad that in 1773 a group of men suck on a ship and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea
  • Parliament punished the Colonists for destroying so much tea during the Boston Tea Party by passing harsh laws. One law closed the Boston Harbor so trade ships could not enter or leave. People called these laws the Intolerable Act. Leaders from 12 colonies came to talk about the problems with Britain. This was the first continental
