  • Rome
  • they ruled rome  as a monarchy  with srevel  strong kings
  • Rome was a monarchy by  making the poor peple vote but they did not vote inside of the office
  •
  • after the etrusecun  rule ended  the romans set up a form of goverment  called a rpublic
  • The fighting ended when Julius Caesar became dictator (a ruler with total power who takes control) and ran Rome without listening to the Senate.
  • After the Etruscan rule ended, the Romans set up a form of government called a republic in 509 BC. A republic is very similar to a democracy. Under a democracy, such as in Athens, all citizens were allowed to vote and voice their opinions on laws and how the government should be run. This sounds fair, but it becomes difficult to allow everyone to have a voice when the population is very large. Due to this issue, the Romans established a republic. Instead of having every person voice their opinion on government issues, each citizen votes to elect someone to represent them and make all of the political decisions for them, like the U.S. President, making the government operate faster and more efficiently. Instead of a president like we have today, the government in Rome was headed by two consuls who explained and carried out the laws. They were chosen for a one-year term.
