Alicia green-Barbara Jordan

This storyboard does not have a description.
Barbara Jordan worked hard to achieve her goals. She grew up in a poor black neighborhood in Houston, Texas the daughter of a Baptist minister.
In 1966, Jordan won a seat in the Texas legislature becoming the first black woman to do this. She did not receive a warm welcome from her new colleagues at first but she eventually won some of them over.
One thing is clear to me: We, as human beings, must be willing to accept people who are different from ourselves.
Barbara Jordan was an important person in our history because she helped to enforce the laws of the constitution when it was needed and helped others do so too
