The 14th amendment is passed saying that schools can not be segregated.
The government in Arkansas finds a way to keep their schools segregated, whitch is against the constitution.
9 African American students were stopped by the State guard from going to a white school.
President Eisenhower sent the National guard to get the African american students to the school safely.
The school board eventually decided to remove the 9 students from the school because the white children had stopped going but the NAACP brought it to the Appellate courts to keep them in school.
Finally, the case was reviewed by the supreme court and the 9 students stayed in school and the schools eventually became integrated.
