  • The heat from the pot is moved to the handle.
  • Ouch!
  • Heat from the fireplace spreads across the room.
  • Heat from the sun is given to the man on the beach.
  • NORTH
  • Hot air from the land is swept to the sea during the day.
  • During the night, the land is cooler and the sea brings in heat.
  • Winds above the equator, the middle of the Earth, go to the right, and winds below go towards the left. This is called the Coriolis Effect.
  • WEST
  • The arrows point to winds called westerlies that come from the west.
  • Wind at the top and bottom, are called polar easterlies since they come from the east.
  • SOUTH
  • In the center, winds that go west are called trade winds.
  • EAST
