carbon is everywhere, and when in the atmosphere it combines with oxygen to make carbon dioxide
Carbon dioxide is absorbed into plants when they go through photosynthesis, and when animals get hungry they eat the plant and take in the carbon dioxide
when animals breathe they exhale carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere
However, when animals die they eventually decay and get turned into fossil fuels like oil
When fossil fuels are ignited, they combust and start to burn releasing carbon dioxide back into the air
