Lately on Social Media, there have been rumors that nutella is toxic and shouldn’t be consumed because of vanillin and monosodium glutamate(also known as MSG).
They’ve claimed that it’s toxic because it contains the chemical vanillin that supposedly kills brain cells.
Yet there’s no logical link to the explanation that Vanillin does kill brain cells, and Vanillin has been proven to provide “blood and brain protective properties” as written in a toxicology study of vanillin on rats found on the National Center for Biotechnology Information website.
Now the problem with MSG is that this chemical is said to be hidden in the chemical Vanillin. This however is proven false because they have different chemical structures which means MSG can’t possibly be found in vanillin.
In conclusion, nutella is NOT toxic and is safe to eat.
