Storyboard Text

  • I'm sorry Johnny, but we really do not provide things like that here at our schools.
  • Mrs. Bates, I love math. I want to take a class in every math subject.
  • The Cardinal Principle just came into effect. It says that students like you only need the basics in order to graduate and be prepared for the work force.
  • Really? Why not?
  • Even if you could, the classes probably are not available. Teachers like me often are not educated in math as children and only have a 2 year degree. We are not trained properly in order to teach you in such high level classes
  • Well shouldn't I be able to pick my classes when I get to high school next year?
  • I will set you up with a psychological test. It will allow you to be placed in high school classes according to your interests and abilities.
  • What am I supposed to do with my life if I can't be a mathematician??
  • You're welcome... now please get back to your math drills.
  • Oh, cool. Thanks Mrs. Bates.
  • Yes ma'am.
