The Voyageurs travelled to Canada to find a route to Asia and setteled with the First Nations, but brought many different items to trade with the First nations in their search for materials, especially beaver pelts.
When the Voyageurs came to Canada, the First Nations were already there. The First Nations would only allow them to stay if they had tools to trade. The Voyageurs gave them knives, guns, jewellery, gems, and other valuable materials if they allowed them to stay on their land. When the First Nations accepted the offer, the Europeans were given a small peice of land.
As the Voyageurs stayed on the First Nations land, they continued to trade many of their valuables for other things from the other peoples.
