Things weren't looking so good for the Soviets.
Ok. We shall fire a coup against Mikhail Gorbachev! He has been terrible, and he shall end his reign of the Soviet Union! Onward!
The coup failed, but Mikhail Gorbachev was still shocked. He knew his term would be over soon. David, Mikhail Gorbachev's friend, was very mad.
Wow! That was a close one. I'm lucky that I didn't get hurt! Still, I fear that the end is near for the USSR.
I told you! You're a terrible leader! You gave too much power back to the republics and the public! Now you shall suffer this fate of losing the Soviet Union.
On December 25th, 1991, Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as the president of the USSR.
I hereby resign as president of the Soviet Union. I have failed my country, and I am sorry for doing so. Also, Merry Christmas!
The leader of Turkmenistan, Gary, enjoyed freedom very much. He was glad to be rid of the USSR's control.
Ahh, what a nice Christmas gift! We finally got our independence once and for all!
