Consumers have some basic rights that protect them from people who might scam them into buying things that don't work the way they should.
One of them is the right to safety. This means that you are guaranteed that the item you purchase will be safe.
For Example: If someone buys a water bottle, they will be guaranteed it will not contain hazardous items.
Another is the right to be informed. This means that you can get any information you need to be informed about that product.
For Example: If you ask the store representative what is a certain product made off they will tell you.
If your consumer rights are ever violated you can contact the FTC or the Federal Trades Commision and leave a complaint or visit their website at https://www.ftc.gov/abou t-ftc/bureaus-offices/bureau- consumer-protection.
