Storyboard Text

  • Come down! You have been up for over six hours!
  • About 8.5% of 8-18 year old gamers are addicted. Do you want this to be you? Kids are addicted to video games and this number is growing each year. Addiction is damaging for emotional, social and even physical health.
  • Video game addiction can be stopped, however new technology has made video game addiction increase in the past years. It can occur with violent games, non- violent games, or a mix of both. It happens when a person plays too many video games and cannot stop. This leads to obesity, anger issues and many other problems.
  • "If you're playing a lot of violent video games, you're practicing being [aware of your] enemies," says Douglas Gentile, a psychologist at Iowa State University. "When you get bumped i/n the hallway, you stop assuming it was an accident."
  • Hey!!!!
  • Sorry
  • Time to stop! You have to study for that test tomorrow!
  • Parents should make sure their child doesn't play for too long, or else they have a chance of going through addiction. Also, they have more time for homework and to study.
  • One teen, Shelby Levin, a tenth grader with a 3.5 grade point average at North Farmington High School in Farmington, Michigan, says that he plays games mostly for fun. A fan of sports games and violent games, Levin, said, "I don't think you can learn more from playing video games than from reading a book or doing an assignment."
  • OFF
  • 1035/12=?
  • People want educational video games so kids are more motivated to learn. If video games are educational, kids are having fun and they are getting their study time in. Some games already have educational features. So help stop video game addiction and make the world a better place.
