  • Character vs Self
  • "Who's that!"
  • Character vs Society
  • "Where am I?"
  • Character vs Character
  • "Noooo!"
  • This is an example of character vs self because Thomas and Chuck chose to play a prank on Gally. This would be character vs self because although Gally is angered with them, Thomas feels anxious and bad about joining Chuck in the prank, as he might have made an enemy. (Page30-32)
  • This is an example of character vs society because Thomas finally wakes up and comes out of the box, but he's frightened as to where he is. This is character vs society because where they are is an experimental maze created by a foundation. (Page 1-4)
  • This scene best fits the example of character vs character because Ben disobeyed the rules by attacking Thomas, and his punishment is being banished, meaning he was sent to the maze for the Grievers to get him. (Page 94-96)
