GENDER AND SEX
GENDER IDENTITY AND INEQUALITY
Gender refers to social or cultural distinctions associated with being male or female. Being either male or female is specific to certain cultures and is not universal. Sex is different from gender. Sex is the physical or physiological differences between male and female such as development of mammary gland in female and masculine voice in males at puberty.
MARXIST FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE
Gender stereotype is the generalization about the role of each gender. It simplifies gender attributes and does not describe every person. Gender identity is an individual's self-conception of being male or female based on their affinity with masculine or feminine gender roles. Gender inequality refers to the unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender.
