In March 1918, the German army struck weak points in the Allies lines and went deep into France. By summer, new front line was only 75 km away from Paris. When the Americans arrived, the Allies stopped the germans in advance.
I'M SO HUNGRY AND TIRED I JUST WANT TO GO HOME
On August 1918, the Allies launched a series of attacks known as The Hundreds Days Campaign. Canada's offenses were the most successful from all the Allied forces. But this campaign exhausted the Germans and the rest of the Central Powers. They had no reserves, food and supplies.
An armistice/ a truce ended the war. On the Western Front was finally signed in a railway car in France at 5:00 am, Novemeber 11th, 1918. The war was stopped at 11:00 am.

Anthony had finally returned home after war had ended and he surprised his family. He felt tears of joy because he was one of the lucjy ones who go the opppurtinty to see their loved ones after a brutal battle
One of the treaties was called, The Treaty of Versailles. This laid peace between Germany and the Allies. In the end Germany had to agree to take full responsibility for causing the war
After signing the Armistice, the allie leaders that won the war met in Paris in 1919. It lasted more than 6 months and resulted in a number of treaties that made new borders and compensated losses. The Paris Peace Conference was very important for Canada because it showed autonomy and independence from Britain. Bordon demanded Canada having it's own seat at the conference, and ended up getting one
