Storyboard Text

  • After the experiment, we found that the threat of a shock; red dot, resulted in freezing!
  • The threat of shock also increased sympathetic & parasympathetic autonomic responses in participants.
  • THREAT OF SHOCK= FREEZING!
  • Our findings provide evidence that freezing is correlated with an improvement in perception of coarse LSF features. Thus, proving that in the face of threat, freezing is an optimal defense mechanism.

  • THREAT OF SHOCK= FREEZING!
  • This study was important in understanding how perception is altered in the presence of freezing, in this case, how it increases perception of visual features.
  • This study relates to 2P49 in that it examines how specific stimuli, i.e., a threat, is perceived by specific receptors, and then elicits a response!
