The oregon trail was a major route that people took when migrating to the western part of the united states.Between 1841 and 1869.
They traveled using covered wagons oxen were used to pull these wagons.they took about 1,000 pounds of food with such as:Tack coffee bacon rice,beans, and flour.they had some tools to use along the way such as candles,a rifle,tents,bedding and basic tools such an axe and shovel.
They traveled to the oregon trail in the early 1830's and early 1840's they wanted to have more land and wanted to farm there with new homes they said that the trail had good weather and that gave them the chance to become wealthier and more independent than they been before.
