Comparisons: Athens vs Sparta: Education
This storyboard does not have a description.
Hi! I'm a boy from the Greek town of Sparta. I've only come to look for a couple things, and I need to leave soon. I need to get back to training. it's hard, but worth it! I'm planning on being a soldier when I grow up!
What's up! I go to school like my friends. We all learn such cool things! Math, science, and tons of other things.
Hello! Welcome to Athens. My brother and I grew up here. I'm only going to be out here for a little while, since I'm not let out of the house often, like most girls.
Well, we should get going. Hope you enjoyed!
Wow! Athens and Sparta have really different education, huh?
In Ancient Sparta, the boys left at young ages to prepare for becoming a soldier someday. They trained for many years. Meanwhile, the women stayed home and trained to protect the town and home.
However, things were different in Ancient Athens. Instead of learning how to fight, boys would learn other topics like literature, math, and science. The girls could not learn. They were confined to the house to watch the kids and clean.
As you can see, education was really different in these two towns.
