Storyboard Text

  • Miller wrote the Crucible in protest to McCarthyism in the 1950's. The Crucible was set in the year of 1692 and was set in the Puritan town of Salem in colonial Massachusetts.
  • Mary Warren is a liar who does not know what she wants. She is very two- faced and flip flops back and forth throughout the story.
  • MARY WARREN: Abby, we’ve got to tell. Witchery's a hangin' error, a hangin' like they done in Boston two year ago! We must tell the truth, Abby! You'll only be whipped for dancin', and the other things! (Pg.143)
  • Mary Warren was worried when Abigail was putting on that little show where she acted as if she was under Mary Warren's control. Mary Warren was afraid she was going to get hung. Ruining her reputation...
  • ABBY.... stop.....
  • Mary Warren's motivation is to be accepted by Abigail because she knows that she will not win against her due to Abigail's clever schemes in court. Mary Warren just wants to fit in.
  • Oh poor child come here...... poor thing....
  • ABBY! PLEASE, I'M SORRY...... ACCEPT ME BACK!!
  • Mary Warren wanted social power because she was used to being a maid. So she abused the social power that she had gained to try and control others.
  • WHAT!?!?! WHY MARY.......
  • I HAVE THE POWER TO KILL ANYONE IN COURT THAT I WANT......
  • Marry Warren was tryin to tell the truth, but Abigail pretends to see a scary bird. So Mary Warren basically said screw it and joined in on the hysteria.
  • A BIRD!!! WITH SHARP CLAWS..... MARY STOPPP!!!
  • AHHHHH!!!! THE BIRD, I SEE IT!!!
