  • Your'e standing here all set to crucify - all set to find a scapegoat!
  • In the scene where all the characters blame one another saying "it's him" or "he did it." This happened the night right after Charlie blamed Tommy outside on Maple Street.
  • The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street: Theme: Mankind is it's own worst enemy By: Adhit Desai
  • It's Him!
  • I tell you it's the kid!
  • It's Charlie. He's the one
  • Who is it!
  • During this scene the conflict between characters turns violent. Steve is trying to stop the violence while everyone is bracing and preparing to attack," A hand fires a rifle, a fist clenches, a hand grabs the hammer from Pete Van Horn's body." This scene occurs right outside of everyone's house's during the night.
  • Why!
  • This supports the theme, "mankind is it's own worst enemy" because the residents of Maple Street are trying to blame their neighbors creating tension and conflict with themselves. No one is telling them to blame someone, they should ave stuck together and the story wouldn't have ended in the violent way it did.
  • This scene supports the theme, "mankind is it's own worst enemy," because when everyone on Maple Street joined in blaming people everything turned into chaos. The people couldn't find someone to blame so they became scared and blamed many people trying to make their problems go away. Because they were blaming everyone the blaming slowly turned violent, and the ending is the proof of that.
  • This supports the theme, "Mankind is it's own worst enemy," because the people turn violent on themselves, they start hurting their friends because they don't know who to blame, the blaming turns into a free-for--all and ends with injuries and death. Nobody tell the people to turn on each other, they did that on their own proving that,"mankind is it's own worst enemy."
