Storyboard Text

  • Exposition- Everybody gets confused.
  • That's what it looked like. I didn't hear anything crash though. Did you?
  • What was that? A meteor?
  • Conflict- The powers goes off for everyone randomly in the night.
  • Steve, the powers off. I had the soup on the stove and the stove just stopped working.
  • I just don't understand it. I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. You saw me. All of you saw me. I don't understand. I swear... I don't understand. What's happening?
  • Rising Action- Les Goodman's car starts up somehow. Also people accuse others of being aliens.
  • Maybe you better tell us. Nothing's working on this street. Nothing. No lights, no power, no radio. Nothing except one car---yours!
  • Climax- Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn (who was mistaken for a creature). Then Charlie's lights turn on somehow.
  • Pete Van Horn! He was just gonna go over to the next block to see if the power was on--
  • But... but I didn't know who he was.
  • You killed him, Charlie. You shot him dead!
  • Falling Action- Charlie blames Tommy for the lights turning on and for the car turning on because Tommy knew about it.
  • It's... it's the kid. It's Tommy. He's the one!
  • Resolution- Figure 1 and Figure 2 actually were the ones controlling the lights and car from their space craft.
  • Understand the procedure now? Just stop a few of their machines and radios and telephones and lawn mowers... throw them into the darkness for a few hours, and then you just sit back and watch the pattern.
  • And this pattern is always the same?
