Storyboard Text

  • Settlers from the north and the south come to an undeveloped Kansas territory.
  • The north and south both crucially needed Kansas to become part of their territory in the fight over slavery; and if it was right or not.
  • The legislation of Kansas fought over if the state would be pro-slave or a free- slave state.
  • Many people died while fighting over whether or not Kansas would be a slave state as the addition of Kansas to either side would result in a great advantage.
  • The fight over Kansas led to the death and fighting between many Americans and therefore was labeled as "Bleeding Kansas"
  • The state of Kansas ended up being a free-slave state, after the Civil War concluded.
