Storyboard Text

  • What do you want to know, son?
  • Hey Dad! I had a question about the American Revolution.
  • Well you see son, the Proclamation of 1963 forbade the colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • I was curious about what the Proclamation of 1763 was.
  • Because, The British had won the French and Indian war. Some Native Americans missed the gifts French bestowed, and were not happy to find out they were under British rule.
  • And why is that? Why did the British not allow them there?
  • The colonists were upset because they couldn't settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. They reacted by going anyway.
  • So, how did the colonists react?
  • Indeed. The British reacted by burning their homes.
  • I assume the British did not like that very much?
  • No problem son. Although I do appreciate you asking me questions, please pay attention in class. Otherwise, it'll become a habit.
  • Wow. Well, thanks dad. I didn't know this because I wasn't paying attention in class today.
