Storyboard Text

  • Chapter 1: The rabbits
  • George ? Will I be able to tend the rabbits ?
  • Chapter 1: Hide in the bush
  • Lennie, listen to me. If you get into any trouble hide in the brush. Remember Lennie.
  • Oh sure George, I'll remember.
  • Chapter 2: Bad vibes
  • Y'all know where Curly is ?
  • He just left looking for you.
  • She purty
  • Symbolism: The rabbits are symbols of Lennie's dream. He is constantly afraid of getting into trouble and having George not allow him to fulfill his dream of tending rabbits.
  • Chapter 2: Something new
  • Ya'll the new workers here ?
  • Yep
  • Foreshadowing: George tells Lennie the day before they work at the farm, that if he gets into any trouble to go and hide in the bush which foreshadows that something bad is going to happen especially with the background history of Lennie getting in trouble from their last job they had to leave.
  • Chapter 3: The shooting
  • Curly goes to the bunker intending to ask for his Wife's whereabout's in where he finds himself as if he wants to pick a fight with Lennie because of his hatred for big guys which gives off a bad vibe to George. Eventually he leaves and his Wife stands by the doorway asking for Curley which makes George more suspenseful about Curly's wife for her being a tart and flirtatious and George thinks Curley is somehow going to get Lennie in trouble.
  • Chapter 3: Defense
  • What do I do George ?!?!
  • You laughing at me !?!?
  • Get em' Lennie !!!
  • Slim finally meets Lennie and George. His reaction to them working and traveling together seems strange, especially the fact that Lennie is the big guy and doesn't talk much and is childlike while George is small, and stands up for Lennie.
  • Candy finally agrees with Carlson to shoot his dog. Afterwards he regrets it because he says he should've been the one to shoot him. The way Carlson talks about Candy's dog as worthless and old , makes Candy feel the same way about himself. His dog was a symbol of fate that Candy had since he too has outlived his purpose on the ranch.
  • Curley walks in thinking that Lennie is laughing at him when in reality he is thinking about the plan George and Candy made earlier, with that said, Candy starts coming at Lennie and George tells Lennie to defend himself and punch back, Lennie then grabs Curley's hand and crushes it. Carlson sends Curley to a doctor and made a deal to lie and say his hand got stuck in a machine and that way Slim wouldn't say what really went down.
