In the story of "The Cask Of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe there was a character called Montresor that was seeking revenge on a guy called Fortunado that has insulted him and then we ends up getting killed by Montresor.

The narrator states"I look down as I was finishing the last row" which means he was watching how he was watching him slowly die.
This shows the narrator was trying to show how Montresor was searious about killing Fortunado and don't hold back and not thinking of this as a joke
Montresors revenge isint justified so he should be killed or sent to jail.
