Kaitlin, is very small for her age, she is a tiny and short third grader and had told her good friend Vanessa, one morning in class about her new puppy she got over the weekend.
Vanessa, was very happy for Kaitlin. As for Kaitlin she went on and on about her exiting weekend.
Later, in class Kaitlin's teacher, Ms. Gomez asked, "Did everyone complete their weekend homework?" Along with everyone else Kaitlin responded, "Yes Ms. Gomez."
Ms. Gomez was delighted, she also felt so grateful for her honest little third graders. It was then 10:00 am, the recces bell rang. Ms. Gomez then passes out a little treat for her all students that did their homework.
Kaitlin, then felt a little guilty. She felt terrible after she had seen how happy Ms. Gomez was to see how responsible our class is. Kaitlin knew she didn't do her homework, and she knew now that she only had more to do tonight.
She thought about telling the teacher that she didn't do her homework , then started to stare in space. "Kaitlin what's wrong you seem, puzzled and very confused", "Oh its nothing". "Its just...i...i...i didn't do my homework Ms.Gomez I lied to you, i'm sorry". says Kaitlin "Its ok next time tell me the truth next time ok", "Ok Ms.Gomez"
When Kaitlin left from the back of the school to get to the bus she thought to herself that this is a fresh start, and from now one I won't lie so that I won't feel guilt
