Stanza two line two
Inanimated objets or animals are given human qualities. Ghosts are usually used in reference to humans beings, but here, Poe has assigned this reference to the burning embers from his fire.
'And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.'
Stanza 12 line 4 at the biginning.
Repetition is a literary device that repeats the same words or phrases a few times to make an idea clearer. In this line the repetition is Fancy. Fancy is higher than expected
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this omnious bird of yore.
Assonance is the repetition of vowels ( A-E-I-O-U) sounds, usually within words. The assonance here is purple and curtain.
Stanza 3 line one
