Paraphrase means to express the meaning of;using different words.A man is thinking of his wife, Lenore, who has passed. A Raven comes to visit him while he's upset. Whenever the man asks a question the bird responds nevermore. The man asks if his wife Lenore is coming back and the bird says nevermore.
Lenore in greek mythology means light. This implies that Lenore was the "light" of his life. Without her, he had darkness.
Pallas is Athena, the godess of wisdom. The Raven landing on the bust symbolizes it's wisdom.
