  • The British were attacking American trading ships and forcing our soldiers to join there navy. After we started to get mad and the British allied with the Native Americans . They gave the British guns to use to attack U.S settlers in the Northwest Territory.

  • The Battle of the Great Lakes; led by William Henry Powell. Was when the American navy fleet captured the British naval fleet and took control of the lake.

  • When Fort McHenry was being invaded by the British Francis Scott Key wrote a poem. Which is known as the Star Spangled Banner. There was not much remembered by this event, so this song is very valuable to our country.

  • Andrew Jackson was given the name a war hero after he defeated the Creek Warriors. He was than given the responsibility of protecting New Orleans. The battle of New Orleans was a big changing point in the war.

  • After the war of 1812 with Britain there were many affects that it had on our nation. There was an increase in patriotism and nationalism. The nations manufacturing was strengthened, this was the biggest change. Some reasons are that it is cheaper to purchase American made products and that tariffs made imported goods more expensive.
  • After being at war with Britain it affected our nation entirely.
