  • The word "Basic" has two different meanings.  Older Generation: forming an essential foundation or starting point. Example: Certain basic rules must be obeyed Younger Generation: someone that is over the top and interested in the mainstream.  Example: girl ordering a "pumpkin spice latte"
  • This demonstrates two "Basic" white girls making their annual trip to Starbucks for the famous "Pumpkin Spice Latte"

  • These girls may be told they are "Basic" because they are both wear adidas which is a very basic brand

  • Donuts from the Peace, Love and Little Donuts of State College. Someone might say, “that girl is so basic for posting that on Instagram”.
  • Basic is a word that some girls may find insulting because of its negative meaning. If someone is described as basic you may feel like a crowd follower.
  • Basic has been redefined over the last couple of years. All in all, "basics" redefinition is used everyday to describe someone only interested in the mainstream and trending.
