  • James Madison was the fourth president of the United States of America.
  • James Madison is President
  • Hello! My name is James Madison. I was president from 1809-1816.
  • The British need to stop taking American ships and our troops.
  • The war started when Britain took American troops and ships and forced the U.S to go to war to get their troops and supplies back.
  • Cause of the War of 1812
  • I, Tecumseh, allied with the British, and organized a group to kill Americans with British guns.
  • I am Oliver Hazard Perry. I commanded the navy of the United States.
  • Oliver Hazard Perry commanded the U.S navy at Lake Erie. The U.S outnumbered the British and indians. The British were defeated and Tecumseh was killed. This eliminated the indian alliance with the British.
  • The First Phase of the War
  • I am William Henry Harrison. I was a general for the U.S. I helped defeat the British.
  • The British burned down the Whitehouse. The British also layed siege to fort McHenry. The U.S. would not back down. They fought through the night. This inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner.

  • At the Battle of New Orleans, the British outnumbered the U.S. However, the United States under Andrew Jackson, killed 2,000 British soldiers. The U.S. only had 71 casualties.
  • I am Andrew Jackson. I was an important factor in the United States' surprising victory at the Battle of New Orleans.

  • Andrew Jackson is great! We only had 71 casualties!
  • The war ended when the U.S. signed the Treaty of Ghent to stop the war. After that, the Industrial Revolution started because the United States didn't trade with the British anymore.
