  • Sir, or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore;
  • But I'm you were knocking so quietly, that I scarcely heard you before.
  • Climax
  • Prophet! Tell me, I implore! Speak to me the answers of Lenore!
  • The narrator is in his room, praying and seeking the answers of the woman who died, named "Lenore." As a tapping sound, as if someone is knocking, echoes from his door.
  • Falling Action
  • Out! Out! Vile fiend! Leave no trace, and stay nevermore!
  • Nevermore
  • The Narrator investigates, after telling himself is is simply someone as his door, and finds nothing, and no one, just pure darkness.
  • Climax
  • Nevermore.
  • A Raven enters the house through the narrator's window, and sits on the man's palla, above his doorframe, as the Narrator begs for answers, believing the raven to be a prophet.
  • Personafication
  • Nevermore!
  • Nevermore!
  • After the narrator's pleading, the man demands that the Raven leave his home, and never return, to which the bird does not reply, and continues staying on top of the Pallas
  • The Raven remains, and the ending is unclear, as it can be interpreted many ways, I believe that the man dies, having lived "Nevermore" and gone off to get his answers of Lenore.
  • Throughout the story, the Raven speaks, giving it a quality only humans have, this is personification.
