Storyboard Text

  • Wow! Look at that lollipop DNA!
  • The DNA opens up, and the single-stranded lollipop mRNA is released, and it is coming out of the nucleus! That's transcription!
  • Mutation could happen, and that would not be good! What if my RNA from my original DNA isn't made right!  If transcription goes wrong like that, it could effect my proteins greatly! If a ribosome doesn't read the mRNA in my body correctly, then my amino acids won't form right, and then my proteins that I need will be distorted!

  • Wow! That multicolored oval is a ribosome, and the fork shape thing carrying the amino acid is tRNA! The amino acids will create a long strand of protein to support our body!

  • That is called translation. There are so much amino acids! Holy Moly! Organisms sure do need lots of protein.
  • But what if it goes wrong? What if transcription or translation messes up, and the protein strand doesn't form correctly?
  • Oh no! The processes have gone wrong! I mutated and changed color! I am growing other dogs! One of the amino acids didn't form correctly! The mRNA messed up!
