Storyboard Text

  • Two North American teachers talking about their experiences of teaching in Japan.
  • I grew up on a farm and we had guns for either hunting or to protect livestock.
  • Is very shocking to people when I tell them that guns are common in America.
  • Guns in America
  • Guns have never bothered me, but I can understand because in Japan that is just not the case
  • Yeah, especially since you and I both are from rural towns.
  • Driving to High School
  •  Is shocking for my students when I tell them that I had a car in high school.
  • Yes, mine have been very surprised too. In most countries people have finished high school and then they start driving.
  • In America, kids would hold hands, or kiss in public places. In Japan it would be rare
  • About relationships, at least for kids, they're very different
  • Dating
  • Oh, so rare...
  • You're right
  • We are so different!
