  • The candidates for the election of 1860 were Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, John Breckenridge and John Bell

  • The Democratic Party split in two. The Northern Party nominated Stephen Douglas and the Southern Democrats nominated John Breckenridge. Constitutional Union Party nominated John Bell and the Republican Party nominated Abraham Lincoln
