  • 1945: United Nations formed
  • The United Nations formed by the Soviets and the Americans.
  • 1946: Churchill's famous " Iron Curtain" speech 
  • Please don't invade us.... The West might take over. 
  • 1947: Truman Doctrine
  • Truman Doctrine: Churchills speech 
  • In 1945, The United States and the Soviet Union put there problems aside and formed The United Nations. 
  • 1949: NATO formed 
  • A goal of the Soviet Union was to shield itself from another invasion in the West. The Soviet Union was in fear for centuries. 
  • 1955: Warsaw Pact formed 
  •        NATO IS A THREAT
  • A lot of people thought that the United states couldn't afford to support the Truman Doctrine, but the doctrine was always a good controversy. 
  • 1957: Space race 
  • Since the blockade heightened, ten Western Europe nations joined with the United States and Canada and was called the NATO. 
  • Since they made the United Nations they decided to make NATO. 
  • The Soviet Union saw NATO as a threat so they made an alliance called the Warsaw Pact in 1955. 
  • The United States was angry with The Soviet Union because they were the first ones in space and the United States felt like they had failed with there technology. 
  • Americans were mad because The Soviet reached first
