  • Exposition
  • Build me a palace. In the cellar, build a maze that no man could escape!
  • Yes, My king.
  • Rising Action
  • Since you know how to escape the maze, you have to stay here forever!
  • Rising Action
  • Please lend me one of your feathers!
  • King Minos summons Daedalus and his son, Icarus, to his castle to build a palace with soaring towers and a high, curving roof and a challenging maze that no one can escape. The maze also contained a horrible beast, known as the Minotaur, that feasts men and women!
  • Climax
  • I'm flying!
  • When Daedalus and Icarus finished the tower and the labyrinth , King Minos told Daedalus and his son they had to stay forever so they would not be able to tell the secret of the maze. He gave them a room to stay in and much work at the castle. They ate delectable food and wore expensive clothing. Even though he was given the life of luxury, Daedalus still was unhappy and became depressed.
  • Falling Action
  • Every day, Daedalus laid out bird seeds for the birds and watched the clever overlapping of their their feathers. One day, he got an idea and started begging the birds for one on their feathers. He did this everyday.
  • Resolution
  • After Daedalus gathered enough feathers, he made the feathers into wings so that he could fly away from the Island with his son. Late at night, he woke up Icarus so that they can escape. He stuck hot wax on Icarus a laid down the feathers. Daedalus and Icarus Jumped off their narrow window ledge and started to fly!
  • Don't fly to close to the Sun, my son!
  • Daedalus had warned Icarus not to fly to close to the Sun, Icarus wanted to prove that he can fly just as high as the sun. When he went came the Sun, the wax that attached the feathers to himself melted and he started to fall towards Earth.
  • Oh-no!
  • Daedalus could only watch as Icarus hurtled head first into the glittering sea and sank deep among the Sharks,Eels, and Squid. All that was left of Icarus was a cluster of waxy feathers floating on the sea.
  • I should have listened to my father.
