Storyboard Text

  • I need you to tell me how the British Regulars are coming so hang lanterns at the North Church Tower. One if by land, two if by sea.
  • We must get to town quickly so that I can get a horse.
  • Along the road I saw ten British soldiers so be careful.
  • Now that i have my horse I shall run on ahead. Also I will be aware.
  • It was April 18, 1775 ans Paul Revere is needing a friend to scout out the area to see how the British Regulars are coming. With this information he will ride to the cities to warn the people of the Regulars arrival. This event is similar to the poem because in both pieces of writing it states that Paul Revere in a conversation with a friend needing the fellow patriot to find out how the British Regulars were coming so that he can warn the cities.
  • Hey. Get back here!
  • Well I better get out of here fast or I'll be in a heap of trouble.
  • Paul Revere is having his two friends row him over to the other side of the Charleston river so that he can send the message on how the Regulars are coming. Paul gets into town to get a horse and be on his way. This event is different in the poem because in the poem it states that Paul had rode himself over the river and it never talks about Paul going into the town, but to go to the cities to warn the people.
  • Retreat!
  • You had better run because i got more troops on the way right now.
  • Paul gets to the town of Deacon Larkin and goes to get a horse. Soon the Committee of safety, Richard Devens, comes to tell him that he saw the signal too. This is different from the poem because in the poem Paul rode straight into the towns to warn them of the Regulars. Also Richard states that he saw ten British soldiers on the road when he came to town.
  • Lets hurry and get out of here with the trunk.
  • Paul Revere and his group rode down until they met two British officers. When they saw him, one tried to grab him while the other got in front of him. This scene is different from the poem because in the poem it says that he was riding through the towns warning the fellow townsfolk about the Regulars.
  • Soon Paul gets surrounded by the British Regulars and need help to escape. Soon the soldiers here a volley of fire and ran away after what he had said which had scared them off. This scene is similar to the poem due to the fact that the poem states that the soldiers did flee after the shots were heard.
  • Paul Revere then comes back after the time when he tried to delivered the message. When he returns he plans on helping John Hancock with the chest that needs to be returned to him in another town because the Regulars had surrounded him when he got their. This scene is different form the poem because it states that he was shouting the message to all of the people in the towns from Lexington to Concord.
