  • The Food Administration hired Bob to persuade Americans to make gardens and grow their own food.
  • Make your own food people. It'll be cheaper and there would be more food for yourselves.
  • That sounds like a great Idea.
  • The Selective Service Act authorized the federal government to raise a national army for the American entry into World War I through the compulsory enlistment of people.
  • We need a bigger army so go grab some young strong men and take them with you. I have you covered.
  • To discourage anti-war factions, the Espionage Act of 1917 banned anyone who obstructed military recruitment, or inticed rebellion within the military
  • Bob, I just passed the Espionage Act. Should help the military.
  • Following immediately after was the passage of the Sedition Act of 1918 which prohibited any outbursts against the government or Constitution.
  • Can't have the people speaking against the government, especially in this war time.

  • Schenck v. U.S. challanged the Sedition Act for being "Unconstitutional." The Supreme Court ruled in favor of US.

  • Don't forsake our soldiers. Support the cause through bonds.
  • War bonds were put in place during 1917 and 1918 to help pay military operations.
  • Buy liberty bonds to support the soldiers in war!
