Before the Scientific Method, people thought that the Earth was the center of the universe, according to Aristotle.
The Earth is the center of the universe.
Because the Scientific Method wasn't invented yet, all people thought that the Sun revolved around the Earth. Also, because Aristotle said this. Since there was no one to challenge it, it became the reasoning for every problem, listening to Aristotle.
Every one believed the teachings of Aristotle, until a person named C.E. Ptolemy challenged his idea.
I wonder if the Earth revolves around the Sun? I will conduct an experiment o find out. I will use the SCIENTIFIC METHOD!
I am the person who did the Scientific Method on the solar system. I used Step 1 by having a question. I used Step 2 by coming up with a new idea, that the Earth revolves around the Sun. I used Step 3 by conducting experiments and using mathematics. Another person that agreed with me was Galileo. He used a new invention, the telescope, to see that the Earth did actually revolve around the Sun, which went against everything that Aristotle taught.
Step 4 was to measure and record the results from the experiments. This was something that the scientists by the name of Johannes Kepler did. After realizing that the Earth orbited the Sun, Kepler wrote precise mathematical laws describing the planet's movement around the Sun.
We have finally found out that the Earth orbits the sun. Step 5 by we studied it to make sure the hypothesis is correct.
