The Causes of The Cold War By: Arianna Colon
The soviet and the United states were never really alliances by choice. They did what they had to during WW2 and that meant fighting together on the same side for a little.
However, after the war had ended tension grew stronger between the two powers. They no longer had to get along in order to win the war.
The US feared a communism attack. The Soviet feared an attack from the United States too.
The Soviet had goals of turning the whole world to communism and America was very against the spread. USSR was also not very fond of capitalism.
The Soviet Union was worried about The United States' atomic weapons. That didn't stop the USSR from continuing their communism expansion westward into Eastern Europe after agreeing not to.
