  • This Scene is indirectly characterizing Scrooge as cruel. It's saying that even dogs leading blind people hate Scrooge. He has such a bad reputation that everyone and everything hate him, even dogs know.
  • Internal Conflict
  • "Show me no more! Conduct me home. Why do you delight to torture me?"
  • This scene is symbolism. The light that was coming out of the ghosts head was Scrooges past. Then when Scrooge tries to cover it with the hat is him trying to avoid his past
  • Indirect Characterization
  • "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
  • One of the themes in 𝘈 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘴 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘭 is the importance of kindness. In this scene Scrooge's old boss gives Scrooge Christmas Eve off. The ghost is trying to show Scrooge how important being a good person is.
  • Symbolism
  • ¨I wear the chain I forged in life¨
  • Scrooge is facing an internal conflict in this scene. The conflict is that he can't face what he did in his past. He broke up with his girlfriend that he still wants to be with. He can't deal with what he has turned into.
  • Scrooge was indirectly characterized as selfish in this scene. The two gentlemen were asking Scrooge to donate money for poor people. Since Scrooge said no and wished that they died he's being selfish. He would rather people die than donate money.
  • Marley´s Ghost has chains all over him. This symbolizes that he did bad things in his life on Earth. The chains symbolize all the bad things he did and Scrooge is gonna have them too.
