"Great the car broke down. Might as well find a way out of this mess"
After walking for a half hour in the pounding rain, I finally came across an old house in the woods. I knocked on the door and to my surprise, it was answered rather quickly. At the door was an older man, looking to be in his late 70s.
He asked me “What do you want?” “My car has trouble, can I please use your phone or someway to help?” I explained. The old man looked at me with gloomy eyes. “I am wary of travellers but you look honest enough” he said. He invited me in and he let me use his phone. “Thank you sir. May I ask what is your name?” I asked “My name is Joseph Palmer”, he said.
I spent the night in the spare bedroom. My imagination had me too paranoid to sleep. I heard Mr. Palmer outside the room, walking up and down the hallway outside. Then all of a sudden the footsteps stopped, right outside my room. I waited but nothing happened. Finally I started to fall asleep slowly. My eyes closed. Though I thought I could hear something scratching at my door
Leaving the room, I was greeted by Mr. Palmer. “Did you sleep well?” he asked. “Yes I did, but I had trouble falling asleep” I replied. “Thank you Joseph. I have to leave now to get my car”. I turned to leave when suddenly, something banged my head and everything went dark.
I was tied to a chair in the basement. Mr. Palmer walked up to me with a large knife in his hand. “Why are you doing this and why now?” Mr. Palmer replied “Last night, you would have been full of fear and ready for any attack I would do and everyone expects attacks at night. But during the morning people are more relaxed and the fear is low, making them blind to any chance of harm”.
I looked into Palmer's eyes as he walked towards me, his eyes were completely black, and I tried to scream...
