There was once a king, Amelius was overprotective of his kingdom and would go to great lengths so the crown can remain his.
Even if that meant taking the life of his sole living heirs. Because they had the potential to one day succeed him.
He gave orders that his niece's twin sons should be put into a basket and were set on the river. Letting the tide determine their fate.
The current rocked and safely carried the basket ashore. Where it was met by a lonely mother wolf who had just lost her pups. She took in the starys and nurtured them.
A shepherd came across the wolf's den and saw the children, he took them back home to his wife so he can raise them as his own.
A wanderer happens to come upon the boys and tells them that they are the long lost heirs to King Amelius' crown.
