Act 4 Scene 1

Storyboard Text

  • No. (4.1.5)
  • You come hither, my lord, to marry this lady? (4.1.4)
  • Hero itself can blot out Hero's virtue. What man was he talked with you yesternight out at your window betwixt twelve and one? Now, if you are a maid, answer to this. (4.1. 80-83)
  • I talked with no man at that hour, my lord. (4.1.84)
  • Why, then are you no maiden. Leonato, I am sorry you must hear. Upon mine honor, myself, my brother, and this grieved count did see her, hear her, at that hour last night. (4.1.85-89)
  • Why, how now, cousin! Wherefore sink you down? (4.1.108)
  • Come, let us go. These things, come thus to light, smother her spirits up. (4.1.109-110)
  • Claudio and Hero are at their wedding ceremony.
  • They know that do accuse me. I know none. If I know more of any man alive than that which maiden modesty doth warrant, let all my sins lack mercy! (4.1.176-179)
  • Two of them have the very bent of honor, and if their wisdoms be misled in this, the practice of it lives in John the bastard. (4.1.185-188)
  • Claudio confesses that he does not want to marry Hero because he thinks she is no longer a virgin. Don Pedro tries to help Claudio prove it.
  • Ah, how much might the man deserve of me that would right her! (4.1.259)
  • Hero faints because of the accusations from Claudio. Beatrice and Don John take care of her.
  • And do it with all thy heart. (4.1.283)
  • Hero wakes back up and Friar Francis finally says something. He does not believe that Hero has done such an awful thing and asks who the man was that was with her last night.
  • Lady, what man is he you are accused of? (4.1.175)
  • Beatrice is very upset that these men have accused her cousin of such a terrible thing. She is talking with Bendick and he confesses that he doesn't think Hero is guilty of such a crime.
  • Surely I do believe your fair cousin is wronged. (4.1.258)
  • Beatrice confesses her love for Benedick and asks him to kill Claudio. Benedick won't do it and Beatrice tells him to kill her because he doesn't love her back. She then leaves.
  • You have stayed me in a happy hour. I was about to protest I loved you. (4.1.282)
