Storyboard Description

Holes is an exciting and unexpected story of love, friendship and the power of promises. Stanley Yelnats breaks a generations old curse in the most unbelievable of circumstances. This story is an unconventional and unpredictable page turner and confirms what every kid knows - that you are never too young to be a hero.

Storyboard Text

  • Elya attempts to marry Myra.
  • Elya visits Madame Zeroni.
  • Stanely goes to Camp Greenlake.
  • Elya falls in love with the beautiful Myra and offers a heart full of love in exchange for her hand in marriage. Myra's father laughs at Elya and demands a fat pig in exchange for his daughter's hand in marriage.
  • Stanley is forced to dig holes.
  • Elya goes to visit the wise villager, Madame Zeroni. She gives him a runt pig to nurture to exchange for Myra's hand. In return, he promised to carry Madame Zeroni up a mountain to drink from a stream before she died or he would be cursed.
  • Stanley and Zero find a buried treasure.
  • Stanley Yelnats is sentenced to a juvenile detention camp, Camp Greenlake, for a crime that he did not commit. The family legend was that he was cursed for all eternity because of his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather.
  • Stanley and Zero break the curse!
  • Stanley is forced to dig holes in the desert at Camp Greenlake. He is not sure what they are looking for but the work is endless, hot and exhausting. Stanley earns the respect of the other boys and they call him Caveman.
  • By taking Zero (Madame Zeroni's great great grandson) under his wing, Stanley fulfills the promise that his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather made to Madame Zeroni by carrying Zero up the mountain and singing.
  • Stanley and Zero have lifted the generations old curse and became rich best friends as a result of finding and splitting the buried treasure.
