Storyboard Text

  • Nat, with your keen intelligence you are destined for greatness.
  • Start a rebellion and save your people!
  • So we shall start with the masters household...
  • Nat Turner was born on a plantation in Virginia as a slave and praised by his fellow slaves for his intelligence.
  • *Screaming-related sounds*
  • He ran away only to receive a vision telling him to return. That same year he had another vision of killing and blood and the holy ghost telling him to start a rebellion.
  • *Screams*
  • Stop this immediately! This is the Police!
  • On August 21, Turner then teamed up with other slaves and made their plan in the woods.
  • Because of this attack, we must use stricter restrictions to prevent this again.
  • That same group of slaves killed their Master and his family in cold blood. Their hunger for justice remained unfed and went house to house shooting, clubbing and stabbing.
  • At least 40 slaves helped join, only for police to fight back killing many and Turner's force broke apart.
  • Nat Turner was eventually caught and hanged in 1831. But changed how people saw slaves and started the movement which ended with the Civil War.
